Add some spice to our Chocolate Cake Mix with this easy to make chocolate and ginger cake recipe. A delicious combination of zingy ginger and sweet moist chocolate sponge.
Recipe ingredients
- 500g pack Ta-Da! Chocolate Cake Mix
- 240ml water
- 1 tbsp ground ginger
- 135ml vegetable oil
- 2 stem ginger, finely chopped plus 3 tbsp syrup
Equipment
- 900ml loaf tin
- Large bowl
- Measuring jug
- Preheated oven to 180°C or gas mark 4
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C gas mark 4. Grease and line a 900ml loaf tin.
Step 2
Place the cake mix in a large bowl and stir in the ground ginger. Mix in 240ml water and the oil to form a smooth batter. Stir in the chopped stem ginger and 2 tbsp ginger syrup.
Step 3
Pour into the prepared loaf tin and bake for 50-55 minutes until a skewer comes out clean, drizzle with the remaining ginger syrup. Allow to cool before removing from the tin.
