Chocolate Sponge Cake

Our Chocolate Cake Mix is simple and quick to make, giving you a delicious chocolate hit with less mess and fuss.
Recipe ingredients
- 500g pack Ta-Da! Chocolate Cake Mix
- 240ml water
- 135ml vegetable oil
- 300g chocolate icing
Equipment
- Large mixing bowl
- 2 x 8" cake tins
- Measuring jug
- Preheated 180°C gas mark 4
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C, gas mark 4.
Step 2
Place the chocolate cake mix into a bowl and add the water and oil.
Step 3
Using a large spoon, mix until a smooth batter is formed
Step 4
Deposit the batter into 2 greased and lined 8" round cake tins
Step 5
Bake for 22-24 minutes
Step 6
Spread a generous layer of chocolate icing and/or whipped cream and top with inclusions such as raspberries, then place the other sponge on top. Dust with icing sugar if desired.
