We’ve taken the well known flavours of Cherry Bakewell and added a chocolatey twist to create this indulgent traybake. These perfectly portioned bite size chocolate Bakewell squares are ideal for sharing with friends and family.
Recipe ingredients
- 500g pack Ta-Da! Chocolate Cake Mix
- 240ml water
- 135ml vegetable oil
- 400g Ta-Da! Dark Cherry Fruit Filling
- 50g ground almonds
- 1 tsp almond essence
- 25g flaked almonds, toasted
Equipment
- 1 Large mixing bowl
- Measuring jug
- Preheated oven to 180°C, gas mark 4
- 22 x 24cm cake tin
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C, gas mark 4.
Step 2
Grease and base line a 22x24cm cake tin.
Step 3
Spread the cherry filling into the tin in an even layer.
Step 4
Place the cake mix in a large bowl with the ground almonds and mix in almond essence, 240ml water and the oil to form a smooth batter.
Step 5
Pour into the prepared tin over the cherry filling.
Step 6
Bake for 25-30 minutes.
Step 7
Allow to cool before up turning out of the tin, sprinkle with the toasted flaked almonds and cut into 12 squares to serve.
