Ever tried a sweet calzone before? Well now you can! Using our Ta-Da! Pizza Base Mix and Ta-Da! Dark Cherry Fruit Filling, this recipe provides a scrumptious sweet twist on a classic.
Recipe ingredients
- 500g pack Ta-Da! Pizza Base Mix
- 300ml water
- 400g Ta-Da! Dark Cherry Fruit Filling
- 100g ground almonds
- 1 tsp almond essence
- 1 medium egg, beaten
- 1 tbsp demerara sugar

- 1 Large mixing bowl
- Measuring jug
- Preheated oven to 230°C, gas mark 8
- Baking tray
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 230°C, gas mark 8.
Step 2
Place the pizza base mix in a large bowl or the bowl of a free-standing mixer fitted with a dough hook. Add 300ml water and knead until soft and smooth.
Step 3
Divide into 8, cover with clingfilm and leave to rest for 10 minutes.
Step 4
Mix the ground almonds with almond essence and 5 tbsp water to form a paste.
Step 5
On a floured surface, roll each dough ball to 15cm circle, spread with almond paste and top with cherry filling, leaving a 1cm border.
Step 6
Brush the dough edges with a little water and fold over to give a pastie shape. Press the edges to seal.
Step 7
Transfer to a large, floured baking tray, brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with sugar.
Step 8
Bake for 20 minutes until golden.
