Apple Traybake Cake

A deliciously moist traybake cake topped with sweet apples and honey.
Recipe ingredients
- 500g pack Ta-Da! Vanilla Cake Mix
- 240ml water
- 135ml vegetable oil
- 2 red apples
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tbsp runny honey
Equipment
- Large mixing bowl
- Measuring jug
- 20x24cm tin
- Preheated oven to 180°C, gas mark 4
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C, gas mark 4. Grease and line a 20x24cm tin.
Step 2
Place the cake mix in a large bowl and mix in 240ml water and the oil to form a smooth batter.
Step 3
Grate 1 apple and stir into the batter with the cinnamon.
Step 4
Pour into the prepared tin.
Step 5
Core and thinly slice the remaining apple and arrange the slices on top of the cake.
Step 6
Bake for 35-40 minutes until a skewer comes out clean.
Step 7
While the cake is still warm, brush the top with the honey and allow to cool before removing from the tin.
